Ross Laird
Ross is a local resident in Midlothian, where he has lived with his family for the past 15 years.
Over the years, he has played a leading role in the local community. He is passionate about supporting young people and served as a board member of Edinburgh College and Penicuik YMCA for many years, as well as serving as a councillor in the past.
Growing the local economy is critical to ensuring young people can live and develop in the area. In partnership with his wife, Ross is a small business owner and understands local business concerns. Ross has also taken an active role in shaping the business environment, having previously served on the Chamber of Commerce, and advises on international healthcare issues.
Addressing climate change has always been a passion for Ross. A keen walker and cyclist, he can regularly be seen commuting by bike and has promoted cycling in Midlothian through various initiatives.
